On Tuesday 13 February sbobet sports the EEEGR team spent the day at Hethel Engineering Centre for East Wind’s first member forum of 2024, kindly sponsored by the group’s Innovation Lead, Dr Dorian Hindmarsh of Proeon Systems. Always an interesting event for anyone in the energy sector, the day commenced with Chair Andrew Harston and Vice Chair Denise Hone providing an update on their future plans for East Wind.
We were then treated to a very packed and interesting agenda, providing something for everyone….
💡sbobet login being in such an innovative environment the meeting kicked off with this appropriate theme. Dorian provided a very enlightening presentation which touched on the elements to focus on when considering new inventions and innovations; details of current opportunities available within the wind sector plus contact information for innovative funding competitions through UKRI and ETIPWind. We also heard from Gill Malin, UEA and Richard Heal, Cefas on the East Anglian Seaweed Project – both Gill and Richard have been working in conjunction with Hethel Innovation to highlight the opportunity Norfolk has to build a seaweed economy – a great project which will benefit the region.
🚢Regeneration plans for Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft: as we all know, there are several plans in place for regeneration of areas in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft to support the sector and this was conveyed to the group by presentations from ABP on the LEEF project; Peel Ports on their range of capabilities; Great Yarmouth Borough Council on the planned O&M base and East Suffolk Council on the proposed Power Park – exciting times ahead for the towns. We also heard from Steve Beel presenting on Freeport East which will further benefit the Eastern region.
🔊Supply chain pitches: after lunch three members were given the opportunity to provide a short presentation pitch – well done Karl Pull, Armultra, Steve Maddams, LocaliQ (perhaps getting the award for speediest pitch ever!) and Sophie Wilson, Clarksons.
👣Carbon Reduction Baseline Assessments: Andy Holyland gave an overview of the carbon reduction baseline initiative. Interesting to hear that some pre-qualifications and tenders now include a section on this so this update is very timely – the Opergy team will be happy to guide you further on this.
Thanks East Wind for another great forum.
